Blockchain events are majorly known as serious events where a lot of high-value information is available with an impressive lineup of knowledgeable speakers. However, Web3 enthusiast, community builder and ambassador Edwin(aka Xploit) believes that Web3 events have become incredibly boring and should have an infusion of entertainment to make these events educative, fun, and engaging. Xploit plans to hold the first-ever Blockchain and Entertainment conference in Delta state, Asaba. In this exclusive chat, he tells us all we need to know about the fast-approaching event dubbed Blockchain and Entertainment 2025 (BET 25).

Tell us about yourself

My name is Edwin, also known as Xploit in the Web3 ecosystem. I’m a video content creator, community manager, and event organizer, and I also help build Web3 communities.

I’m very, very vast and very good at creating awareness as an ambassador. That means I work on projects as an ambassador. Lastly, I’m the voice of blockchain entertainment. What that means is that I spice up tech and Web3 events with my talent, which is basically to make sure that your audience doesn’t get bored. I add colour to your events by infusing entertainment into them, so, that’s me.

What inspired Bet 25?

BET simply stands for Blockchain and Entertainment, which happens to be the theme for this year’s edition of AprilFull And then 25, of course, is the year 2025, that was how BET25 came about because we are trying to have a mixture or blend of a Web3 conference with a little touch of entertainment into it, So that was how I came up with the idea.

Why Blockchain and Entertainment conference. Do you feel discussing blockchain does not get people’s attention enough?

The reason for the blockchain and entertainment event is that whenever I attend Web3 events, I observe they are becoming boring, very boring, absolutely boring because we have too many speakers, it’s just from one speaker to another, one panel session to another, and the audience is getting bored, they already know what to expect in this sort of event. So why not spice things up a little bit? And of course, we are in a country where entertainment thrives. I figured it’s just very easy to, you know, add one plus one, right?

Discussing blockchain alone is very, very good. Teaching people about the technology and explaining it to them is great, but then there’s nothing wrong if we decide to make the audience comfortable and engaged, right? So that’s why the entertainment is being added. It is just to add colour to the event so that people will have fun memories of such events, not just getting the usual boring web3 event.

What should attendees expect when they Purchase tickets to BET 25?

So the attendees should expect a whole lot. This is not your regular blockchain or Web3 event. This is a very unique kind of Web3 event. This is the kind of event, I think I would call the balanced Web3 event or the balanced blockchain event. So attendees should expect a lot of knowledge being dished out to them and at the same time a lot of fun, maximum fun. There will be an Interactive session, an opportunity to network with influencers and mentors in this space, and an opportunity to interact with speakers like Ikechukwu nweze OliliFood CEO and a major blockchain enthusiast, the crypto preacher, Vindicated Chidi and others. of course, the opportunity to meet the performing artists of course, and a whole new lot which will create amazing memories for the attendees.

what do you hope to achieve with this event?

The sole aim of this event is to introduce the Web3 audience to Delta State and this part of the country. When people or projects or Web3 brands are looking for markets and then they come into Nigeria, the places that they often focus on are; Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt, Uyo and one or two other states. But if we have a presence here in Delta state, Asaba to be precise, they would also come here. Currently,  there is no active community in Asaba, Delta state. So this event would be an eye opener and a platform where we can build a thriving Web3 community so that we can have that presence in this city and this state.  That is what we hope to achieve with this event. We are introducing a vibrant, active Web3 community to Delta State.

Any Challenges encountered?

Of course, we’ve encountered some challenges knowing fully well that this is a first-of-its-kind event in Africa. There has never been any Web3 event here that is being mixed with entertainment and this happens to be the 3rd edition of April Full. The theme for the 1st edition was AprilFull of Blockchain Entertainment which was held in 2023. The 2nd edition was in 2024 and the theme for that was AprilFull of Web2 and Web3 entertainment, right? And now we have the 3rd edition, which is Blockchain and Entertainment. So because this is a new kind of event, we have challenges with getting sponsors.

Sponsors and brands are reluctant to sponsor this event because they are thinking, okay, will this event be able to get the attention or get the traction that it requires for them to have a good audience? But for the 1st and 2nd editions, I can say that we’ve surmounted those challenges of proving them wrong, but our major challenges have had to do with getting sponsors.

How do you Surmount these challenges?

How I surmount these challenges is I tell myself that I just have to keep going, I have to be courageous, I have to be willing and this is my number one strategy, this is how I surmount these challenges. I put God first, Yes, that’s my secret. God, because he’s been the one helping me and he’s still helping me.

So how do I surmount these challenges? The answer is simple God.

Do you have a favourite blockchain quote?

My favourite blockchain quote is this; Entertainment will increase blockchain adoption.

Any final thoughts?

Let’s support this kind of movement, let’s support this kind of event, let’s stop hosting or organizing boring Web3 events. It’s tiring, it’s frustrating, and it’s not looking like a good ROI because the people you think you are teaching or people you think you are onboarding, they are actually getting bored and then they just go outside or just go home because most of them know what you want to talk about, however, If you can find a way to keep them engaged while dishing out that information, it will go a long way. So, please let’s stop organizing boring Web3 events.
